The brief.
New-construction cedar cladding on a 1,600 sq ft modern cabin in East Ferris. Vertical board profile with black-frame windows and integrated rain screen.

Challenge
Client wanted a distinctly modern aesthetic (vertical cedar, tight reveals, dark accents) on a design that also had to survive Northern Ontario weather for 30+ years without becoming a maintenance nightmare.
Solution
Rain-screen furring on 1/2" battens for full drainage plane. Pre-oiled Eastern white cedar in a vertical board-on-board pattern. Custom shop-formed aluminum trim at every window and corner. Full soffit and fascia in matching aluminum.
